The International Labour Organization – The UN agency for labour rights have recently inspected Towel Tex, an export oriented towel garments factory of Bangladesh. They’ve looked into the factory safety progress and were deeply satisfied with Towel Tex.
Thus ILO along with Bangladeshi government’s help has taken initiative to inspect 1549 garment factories of Bangladesh for structural fire and electrical safety. The inspection in Towel Tex was part of it. The inspection team was really happy seeing the progress made by Towel Tex as they followed every instruction suggested by ILO. ILO Country Director Srinivas Reddy recognized the progress made over the past four years to enhance safety but highlighted the need for efforts to continue.
